The Sinking of the Ourang Medan Ship Which was Searched by the CIA

| Paranormal Activities

The mystery of the sinking of the Ourang Medan ship is the story of the strangest ship accident that has ever occurred in Indonesian border waters, specifically in the Malacca Strait. This cargo ship reportedly experienced a terrible tragedy and sank in the strait in the 1940s. However, no wreckage was found, giving rise to rumors about a ghost ship.

Ghost Ship Myth

The mystery of the sinking of the Ourang Medan ship began with an SOS message that came to British and Dutch monitoring posts. It contained a request for help from a crew member who claimed to have witnessed all his colleagues die mysteriously.

This incident seems to repeat the myth of the very famous ghost ship Marie Celeste from the 19th century. When it was discovered, the entire crew was lying stiff with their mouths open and eyes wide. There were no signs of violence or infectious disease that caused death.

The tragedy then spread through the Dutch-language Indonesian newspaper, De locomotief. Reportedly, the ship sank around the Strait of Malacca due to an explosion that occurred during the towing process to port. It is recorded that the accident occurred in February 1948.

Surprisingly, the Ourang Medan ship accident report did not just happen once. In November 1940, a British newspaper published a report on the discovery of a ship whose entire crew had died tragically southwest of the Solomon Islands. Seven years later, the location moved to the nearby Marshall Islands in the Pacific Ocean.

The location of the discovery from different witnesses immediately created a wave of ghost ship myths to various levels of society. Not a few people link it to other world phenomena or UFO intervention.

Conspiracy Involving the CIA

The mystery of the sinking of the Ourang Medan ship also attracted the attention of British journalist and historian, Roy Bainton. According to him, the Ourang Medan was an illegal cargo ship tasked with transporting chemical weapons, potassium cyanide and nitroglycerine for the purposes of the Pacific War in the early 1940s. Unfortunately, it is suspected that the toxic material leaked, killing the entire crew. To deceive the public, countries involved in war create fake news and create confusing narratives.

The conspiracy theories surrounding the mystery of the sinking of the Ourang Medan ship don't stop there. A 1959 CIA document revealed a strange phenomenon surrounding the mysterious accident in the Malacca Strait. United States intelligence agencies believe that Ourang Medan holds answers to many unsolved ship accidents and mysterious stories in the Indonesian Sea.

The Mystery of the Strait of Malacca

The mystery of the sinking of the Ourang Medan ship is only a small part of the mysterious story in the Indonesian Sea which has yet to find a bright spot. In 2014, a Time magazine article called the Strait of Malacca one of the most dangerous waters in the world. Not a few ships or planes have disappeared without a trace in the Malacca Strait since the 16th century. From the disappearance of a Portuguese ship carrying treasure to the remains of the Japanese warship Haguro whose whereabouts are unclear. One of the most famous mysterious accidents is the tragedy of the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines MH370 in 2014.
